La voce della pittura. EGO N. (The voice of painting: EGO N)
EGO N is the latest initiative in the “La Voce della pittura” (“The voice of painting”) series. Words and images come together in a double tribute to the magnificent, tormented prince of the Vienna Secession. Two friends and artists have engaged in a dialogue that unites two different realms: Franco Pozzi borrowed freely from originals by Egon Schiele to produce drawings that have been given a voice by the words of Sabrina Foschini, so they can tell the story of their creator. The narrative is in the first person throughout and it stems from a name that underlines the self-assertion of a painter who was accustomed to portraying himself in poses of all kinds. He depicted the most remote parts of his body by contorting it in every conceivable way so he could see them in the mirror. The eroticism and unflinching drama of some of his portrayals are inextricably linked with the hunger for life and art that he showed in his brief time on this planet. He left such a scintillating legacy that it has made its mark on all of the generations of artists that followed him. As was the case with the Victor Hugo and Rembrandt events, NFC will be selling a series of ten one-off packs containing original drawings by Franco Pozzi and signed written contributions by Sabrina Foschini.
